Thus, it is worth to know about it as knowledge often helps to overcome critical situations. If you are using MRF tyre for your car, following facts about your car should not be ignored.

1. Sidewall Markings

On sidewalls of your car tyre, you shall come across some letters and numbers. What do they mean? They basically refer to the following things:

Height

Width

Speed rating

Diameter

Load index (Maximum weight that tyres can carry)

2. Dot Code

Along with some number and letters as mentioned above, you shall notice some dot codes at the sidewall of tyres. Four digit ‘dot code’ actually refers to the date of manufacturing of tires. First two digit show week and last two digital represents year. Knowing about this is important, as experts often suggest changing or replacing tyres after they become 5-6 years old.

3. Tyre Pressure

Different cars come with different pressure level requirement for tyres. The ideal pressure level for your car’s MRF tyres would be found mentioned at logbook. If you do not find it, you should consult expert. According to the specification of manufacturer of car, inflatable should be pumped with air. Over pressure can damage them and low pressure can also cause various sorts of troubles. Significantly, road grip would be inaccurate with improper pressure inside inflatable.

4. Tread Depth

Official tread depth of your car tyres is 1.6 MM. This can be measured easily with a 20 pence piece. You have to insert the coin inside tread. If it goes in and cannot be seen, you can consider that tread depth is fine. If the coin can be seen, tread depth is not legal. To avoid legal hassles and for safety reasons you should replace tyre as soon as possible.

5. Safety Label

It is mandatory for all tyres to carry safety labels. Products from all manufacturers come with such labels. When you go to buy MRF tyre, you need to check this label to understand the parameters like external noise emission, road grip in wet conditions, fuel efficiency, etc. Basically, these factors make difference on road for vehicle drivers. They find more comfort in driving when road grip is still supreme in wet conditions.
